Here we are at the end of another very busy term for the PTA.  Here is a quick update in what’s been happening… 

Nelson Ice Fair: Well I think I can say all the hard work that went into putting on the Ice Fair was worth it… what a fantastic day! We decided again to try something different for Christmas this year and I think I can safely say it was a huge success.  We even got lucky with the weather(ish).  The rare November sunshine that greeted us at the start of the day allowed us to make the tricky decision to have the Christmas Market outdoors which added to the atmosphere of the day.  When the rain did fall towards the end of the day none of the skaters seemed to mind one little bit!  There are lots of photos on the school notice boards and also on the PTA website.  If anyone has any feedback regarding the day please email me at the address below. 

The idea behind the ice fair was to have a great fun day for the children and parents of Nelson without the overriding need to raise money.  We kept the ice skating sessions as cheap as possible to allow us to break even on the day, and along with your generosity in your purchase of the raffle tickets we will show a small profit. 

Special thanks must go to Sally Wilton for her hard work in bringing together the Christmas Market, and Alison Parkin for the tricky task of finding skating sessions for over 500 skaters! Also, in no particular order, the following people require a big thank you for bringing the day together: Sean Traynor, Karen Blomfield, Dom Blomfield, Adrian Shaw, David Prout, Tracy Smith, Dave Gomm, Sue Allingham, David Parker, David Gilbert, Zoe Conlan, Rachel Chadwick-Williams, Tuesday Palmer, Lisa Brereton, Kozeta Doko, Beth Klesel, Sue Mabson, Craig Rew, Annie Hall, Mary Parker, Sarah Evans, Jo & Alec Cobb, Angela Sharma & Sonia Harvey. 

Rugby Car Parking: November was a very busy month with four matches at the stadium.  My thanks to all the volunteers who turned out in the rain and cold to help get everyone parked. 

Infants Christmas Party: This special annual event sponsored by the PTA took place on Tuesday 15^th December.  The party this year was organised by Zoe Conlan and Rob Topping – a big thank you to them both and to all who helped on the day – and also to Father Christmas for bringing along the presents! 

Next PTA meeting: January 19^th at 8pm.  We will always welcome new members – and so if you would like to attend then please just come along on the night to the school staff room. 

And Finally…

I would like to offer my thanks on behalf of the PTA to the excellent help given to us throughout the year by Sylvia & Denise in the School Office.  And also, a huge thank you to Helen, the premises manager, who continues to be a great help to the PTA.
